I notice that when I write this way it triggers the grammar check. Maybe this sort of thing is being heavily edited out of modern writing?

I just sat through a presentation arguing that while survival increases, the person spends more time as a cancer patient (potentially with harms from treatment) but does not live longer. I'm very interested in counter evidence and arguments - can point me in the right direction?
