So now i'm imagining some sort of historical romantic dramedy about how a man and woman from each side of the family knew each other back then, but it wouldn't be until many generations later (present day) that the families became entwined

Was doing some reading about the village in Ukraine where my Oma came from. Largely destroyed now (not unexpected since it's been 80 years since they fled there), but the original settlers came from Danzig and another village in modern Poland...
