I am aware that there are different plugins and external processes you can explore to do similar things with more 'accuracy'. The content and spirit of what I am talking about is a quick, easy exercise that is built into one of the most basic tools of Aseprite.

It isn't something I have found a purpose for beyond experimentation, but I hope somebody out there finds this useful. If nothing else, it is very fun to take your sprites and see the effect!

I think a lot about the results depend on having an art-style that plays nice with this effect - mine for instance uses rigid outlines and fewer colors with harder 'blobs' of color, but the outputs are very good for something that is very low cost to produce.

If you are like me, somebody who defines a lot of their sprite's character whilst doing the deeper pixel work, upscaling your work and then rotating it by like half a degree will create a wonderful smoothing effect that you can further refine (again make sure that RotSprite is selected).
