A mouse youkai whose explosions are the mountain gods' warning system. Kodama-nezumi are rarely able to chase off humans without destroying themselves at least once in return, but revival is possible for as long as they maintain faith in their god. Bakumi's explosions are less frequent, and her sense of faith is significant, so she is thought of as long-lived for her kind. She previously acted with diligence as Suwako's messenger and guardian, and met her demise during the Great Suwa War. When Kanako took over the shrine, Suwako was short on faith, and was unable to revive her. She and Suwako were very friendly with each other. This death, the latest and longest, was only an inconvenience. More than anything, she lamented the defeat of her master and friend, and her failure to prevent it. Just as when she was alive, she maintained her diligence and waited. Over a thousand years was merely inconvenience. Her mind did not waver. Her patience was at last rewarded. When the Moriya Shrine was moved to Gensokyo, Suwako was able to amass great faith once more, and they were soon reunited. Even though her position is no longer needed, she continues to use her explosions to chase off those who ascend Youkai Mountain. She has surprising ability that belies her appearance. However, her role is to be a warning, so she always fights as an obstacle, rather than with the intention to win. Victory is a thing that belongs to the gods. She is fascinated with morbid subjects, such as her own deaths, which leads to people thinking of her as gloomy. But she's actually quite easy to talk to. Her insistence on her job now is not just her loyalty, but her restlessness, too. There's no better way to pass the time than observing the exciting and interesting fools that enter a god's domain. And the reason she rarely explodes? This is because in Suwako's prime, Bakumi was just as rarely asked to mirror her wrath. It was a natural result of working for such a carefree god.

I like this job- I expect it to last me at least another thousand years." K: "Anyway, since you're just gonna revive soon, I figure you wanna opt out of the river ride, like last time?" "I didn't catch everything up there, but I did see your death, and based on that, I get the feeling my boss'll have an extra long lecture for you." "She'd never admit it, but I think it frustrates her that she can't fully judge a kodama-nezumi who's still bonded with their god." "I guess she feels like they don't learn to value their lives enough because they rely so much on their masters' power." B: "This wasn't like my other deaths. I wasn't able to protect my master and friend. If I can't hear Suwako's words for me, I might as well pick up some karma from the Yama." "It's okay. I'll take the ride." K: "Woah, to hear you talk so heavy is kinda scary. Is another kodama-nezumi giving up on the world of the living?" "You know, if you completely lose your lifelink with your master, that means the Yama has free reign to judge your soul again. I can put a good word in, but I can't guarantee where you'll end up." B: "I haven't given up at all. All this means is my revival's gonna take a little longer than I'm used to." "Lady Moriya- Suwako was suddenly given so much to deal with, but I still believe in her." "Someone who was once by your side abandoning you at your lowest... *That* would be worse than death. So even if this war drains her of faith, she won't ever lose mine." K: "Hah, well said. I guess that trust is another part of why you've lived so long, huh? It's a nice virtue to have." "Well, let's get this cruise going. Let me know if I go too fast. You're in luck- The Sanzu looks unreal at this time of year."

Inazuma Eleven (anime, S2)

i already loved S1 but what a step up. i loved the higher stakes & the "road trip" setup. Raimon's new members are all wonderful & the existing ones get great moments too. The matches are twice as exciting and the wrapup is full of heart. Thank you
Gouenji, Kidou, and Endou resolve to become stronger at the game they love in order to stop a group of soccer-playing aliens from destroying Japan in Inazumarj Bunleven season 2. Fubuki Shirou envelops the ball in frost and prepares to strike using his signature offensive technique, Eternal Blizzard. Inazuma Eleven (anime, S2) THIS IS OUR SAKKA • Season 2 quickly sets itself apart from the first season with much higher stakes. The antagonists were wonderfully threatening with a lot of cool techniques, and the reveals at the end made for a surprisingly heartfelt conclusion • S2 makes the smart decision to bench many of the charming-yet- underwritten members of Raimon from Season 1, in order to make way for a new secondary cast. I felt like Touko was a bit underwritten and was let down by Rika never really being able to show her stuff, but all the new characters are a joy to have around and add significantly to the dynamics • The existing characters get even more to them aswell, and the story organically follows up on all the lingering elements from the first season, helping everyone feel much more well-rounded than they did prior • S1 was mostly linear but S2 feels like it has a lot more going on in the background. There's a feeling of mystery and dread, and amidst that the plot regularly shakes things up with twists and turns that affect the characters and what they know, as well as the way they play • The matches felt consistently longer than before, and twice as enjoyable too. Close saves, exciting reveals, friendship power & teamwork galore Amazing!!! season 2 WILL be happening
