That's not to say he won't *try,* but the feds don't have the manpower to force every blue state to not hold elections, short of arresting or murdering Dem governors.

Yup. The states actually operate the polling places and count the votes, and we didn't even cancel elections that one time we were in the middle of a civil war.
Local & state GOP officials need reelection too so they can't cancel just because Trump asks.

It is air-conditioned, you get to sit in a chair rather than standing all day or crawling around tight spaces, and you mostly talk to the same people (co-workers) rather than a parade of strangers that can openly abuse you and get away with it.

Traditionally it's a specific type of 24/7 total power exchange but with huge social endorsement. It's really weird when you think about it.
