🏳️‍⚧️ Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance.

A day to honor and remember Trans people who have lost their lives to anti-transgender violence over the past year, in hopes of raising awareness about this violence, calling for a future where all Trans people can live safely and without fear. 🏳️‍⚧️

Build a relationship with the animal, based on love, trust, and mutual respect. Help the animal understand that I will protect them, ensure their needs are met, and that I am someone they can turn to when they need something.

This is sickening.
"This is what we were voting for!"

From a friend in academia:

>>I was with a public health professor from [major university] last weekend and he said that NIH is now euthanizing whole cohorts of animals from animal studies because there is nobody around to feed them<<

Great work.

I saw a video yesterday of a person having a very cute conversation with her very handsome cat. He was standing up in a chair against the backrest. THEN things went sideways.

He got up on the counter. Ok, cats are going to try things like that.

Training tip💡

Want to get rid of that unwanted behavior? Don't punish your pet!

Instead, gently redirect them to something you want them to do instead.

Punishment doesn't work, and sometimes even serves to reinforce the exact thing you're trying to get away from!

Cats need mental stimulation, and most will choose to be more active in the evening. Make sure to keep toys around, and yes, the occasional crinkle wrapper 🥰

Chihuahuas get a bad wrap because they often don't get the same level of instruction and patience from their humans because there is a perception that they can't do as much damage. They are just doing the best they can with what they know. People often don't train extra small dogs - but they should.
chihuahuas are so cute they need better PR

Yanking a leash can harm a dog's esophagus or vocal chords and is the least effective way to teach them to do what you want. What it does teach them is that you inflict pain for what probably seems like no reason to them.

If you make training enjoyable, it goes SO much smoother.

Dog walking tip!

If your pup is exhibiting unwanted behavior, avoid yanking on their leash.

Instead, use positive reinforcement (training treats, happy/excited voice, affection) to gently guide them toward what you want them to do.

Or dock their tail.
Please don't crop your dogs ears or declaw your cat. That's all.

Animals are good judges of safety.
Look how comfortable that dog is on Tyler Shough’s lap. GREEN FLAG. That’s the kind of teammate I want in my QB room.

Use a calming app to help train your pup to relax. When you have soft music/sound playing when you are relaxing (and your pup is around to hear it), they will learn that sound means it’s time to rest. Then, when you want your pup to rest, turn it on and your dog will naturally settle. #dogtraining
