I used to run KeePass + Dropbox. Gave up on it because the combined difficulties of the Dropbox syncing > KeePass > other apps pipeline generally being not great. It wasn't awful though, and worked offline *if Dropbox felt like it*. A better sync system would make it very usable.

Not at all unique to Ubuntu. I've got this Kali VM I use for CTFs maybe twice a year and every time I dig it up the package manager is completely cooked because they've rotated all their keys and so forth and I missed the rollover. Really feels like there should be a better way to handle that.

For studios that made many games, sure. This studio isn't interested in that.

Also I'm no historian but I think the game industry has always been a mess and the only people with recognisable careers are the noteworthy outliers. Hard to tell when studios didn't credit staff until like the 2000s?

How do you feel about plain hot water from mug?

I'm not saying it's not a nice thought but they've made the thing already. Why would any corporation continue paying them because they have already (past tense) made the thing? Should the corp have to produce another additional thing just to justify continuing to employ all these people?

That's not an issue of owning the copyright, that's automatic (either for the creator, or e.g. for their employer if you're creating as a job). Problem is that if someone violates your copyright you have to take them to court. Costs just to get into a courtroom are not small.

From a quick google (because it's frankly a weird thing to be looking for information on) it seems like it's far from common and mostly only for correcting significant asymmetry and disfigurement.

So yeah, nobody's really giving teens boobs. They're just helping people look "normal".

Titanfall 2, the old Modern Warfare 1/2, The Entropy Centre, Animal Well, Citizen Sleeper, Exo One, Dredge, Obra Dinn... Lots of incredible 5-15 hour experiences out there just slightly away from the current mainstream.

Yes. I want interesting experiences. I don't want "content" by volume.

I wanna shout out Far: Lone Sail as an extreme example that comes to mind. It's like three hours long and very simple and very beautiful. Costs the same as a movie ticket and was as artistically impactful as long.

Nobody "runs" Arch. You have a hobby of maintaining an Arch system. It's not the same thing.

Your expectations for how much expertise and work it should take up just set up and use a computer are way off from everyone else's.

If abortion bans killed women who needed similar treatments to not die from miscarriages, I'm pretty sure this will get exactly the same (lack of) nuance. These laws are entirely intended to do harm (which is bad) but they're doing harm to more people than just the intended minorities.

Do you use a smartphone with auto complete and corrections? You know that's all put together by farming other people's writing habits, right? You're guilty of the same thing. Shoo.

Omfg you anonymous weenie. Get over it. Yeah I don't really like half the bullshit people are doing with AI but using it as a smarter alternative to a basic keyword search is well within its abilities if you use it right. Go harass Sam Altman on twitter if you're so mad about AI just *existing*.

I don't think anyone is giving boobs to teenage girls.

They are, however, removing boobs from teenage boys. There's hormone conditions that cause breast tissue growth to go crazy. These changes are probably going to prevent that sort of care. "Gender affirming care" doesn't just mean trans kids.

I have this problem with movies in particular. Most of what I like is... emotionally heavy. But I most want to watch movies when I want to unwind. :(

Nobody said that.

Literally brand new to this fediverse business but it wouldn't be an actual subdomain would it? He would be "ha" at "nk.cm", as I am "squeakyneb" at "bsky.social".

Comparing the atmosphere to a car doesn't hold up at all. The planet hasn't been enclosed. We were never cooled by hot air leaving the planet and being replaced by cooler air.

That's not a convincing explanation at all. "Goes in and can't come out"? How does that work? What is "in" and "out"? How does the light know? You're handwaving past a lot there and anyone, especially a skeptic, can feel that even if they don't know what's missing.
