Good at: problem solving, organizing digital chaos, and photography. I bake bread, cook, play dnd, and tinker. Like interactive art, science, electronics, physics.
In the library you'd likely find me in 5xx,6xx, and 7xx.
Decent at voice acting too.
Aurora from Whittier, Minneapolis, MN checking in.

I learned recently that Wesley Willis did drawings. I found one on at a local restaurant.

Yes! I'm watching Frankenhooker. Yes! I'm double grounded.

Based on the flight tracker either a computer is flying it and/or a computer is modifying the flight data being displayed. Those lines and corners are too methodical to be flown by hand.

Made my first rye bread from a family recipe. One is with yeast the other with sourdough starter. Both have sugar, molasses, and shortening.

Next, I'll try it as my normal sourdough process to see what happens.

@redteamwrangler.bsky.social found this new miovision install on the NW corner of 28th & Hennepin in uptown. There is a luggage tag with contact info that I can also share.

Hot Wheels did right making this car! The name is "Quick Chat"

If there were more I would have bought the lot for stocking stuffers.

Rows & cols are driven by a SIPO shift registers, they happen at the same time. The rows source 19v and cols source GND.

Here an updated column pins, with what I think you're referencing.

Hmmm. I included the matrix in the schematic, as a means to illustrate what is happening - but I would like to NOT modify the matrix itself.

Do you have an alternative suggestion? I was considering emailing scoretronics to see if i could find the schematic for the controller board.

Can any electrical engineers or circuit monkeys tell me if my circuit is flawed?

It takes 19V in (to use for the Flip Dot Matrix), and converts to 5v for the arduino and shift registers.

LEDs are not included since they are only testing indicators.

I know Labubu's are popular but do you have an Abobo doll from Double Dragon?

Just a large current draw. Nothing to see here. Happened a little bit at the power junctions too.

But seriously, I believe it is the code driving the shift registers. High frequency switching causing it to heat up.

Great news! The shift registers can drive the display!

The bad news: melted breadboard and maybe burnt out a MOSFET. I'm guessing I need to adjust the shift registers to NOT be "on".
Also accidentally killed the arduino.

Next: create a circuit diagram to have bigger brains tell me how to fix it.

Got the shift registers wired. The white and blue leds are inverse.

Next step: update the code slightly (to stop the flashing) and make it work for the flipdot panel.
After that: plug in the shift register outputs to their respective spots (the 5 yellow leds will control the 5 cols/rows).

Larry Tesler died February 16th, 2020. It seems silly and befitting to honor the inventor of copy and paste with the use of his tools.

I'd like to think, as we evolve, that Larry's belief in modeless software can be carried forward with this little copy & paste.
