it should be mentioned this is not an intentional design feature by sony to discourage using burned discs, it is a legitimate hardware fault sony never caught that started appearing in later fats and early slims

i do this all the time lol
i will connect either my ps3 or psp into my pc's line-in and blast an entire album
i will also sometimes hook up an old computer running NT 4 with a winamp playlist containing a bunch of midis and tracker music on shuffle and bonzi buddy interjecting with a shit joke

the 30% cut is pretty bad, but it's not a good sign when the sales cut percentage is THE ONLY THING advertised as to why your competitor is better

my pixel 6 is 4 years old now
the battery has degraded quite a bit but it still lasts the entire day, instead of over 2 days
XDA members are still making custom firmware
the phone is still as fast as it was 4 years ago
so why should i upgrade?

also if you've ever been an android power user who likes to install custom firmware and shit, you will very clearly know that this is nothing new
i used my pixel 1 for 5 years before getting a pixel 6 due to my battery becoming so degraded that it would shut off after being unplugged for 5 minutes
