This feature implicates that they are more in touch with the Pre-Mollusc Era squid then a normal Inkling could. This could explain the robustness of their muscle mass as well as their fiercer nature.

These claws are actually a feature that is now gone in most inklings: hooks.

That is to say that Therinklings have perfectly meshed into society. Don't think them exclusive to civilized life however; most Therinklings will readily acknowledge to embrace a like in the wilderness away from the stuffy city streets of Inkopolis given the chance.
