I had to take away their chromebooks and store their paper files myself. It sucks because before chatGPT chromebooks made us so much more efficient. Feels like going backward 100 years, and so much instructional time is lost. You're not wrong, of course, but we need to ban gen AI

this is what we're doing, but it means less class time to actually teach. And even then they find ways to sneak it in

we're already there. ask students to do ANYTHING and they ask AI. Have them do it on paper in class and they ask at home (or in the halls) and sneak it in

I teach and I don't think anyone outside of teachers understands how badly AI is messing up young brains. Anything short of a ban won't be enough. It's devolving us
