Clutching at her shirt, Vul shivers and shakes, mouth agape as her hair sticks to her face. "It's so... hot." Panel 3. Vul stands, tiny and insignificant in the face of a raging inferno amidst a ruined lobby.

Panel 1. A light ember singes Vul's bandaged hand. Panel 2. She recoils in fear. Panels 3 to 6. A spliced image of Vul, tears and sweat rolling down her face as she stares at her shaking hands. In the background a fire roars as her heart pounds louder and louder. "It burns." "It's hot." "It hurts." "It burns!" "It burns!" "Help me!" In red text bubbles, she hears a voice from a past she'd rather forget. "You should've been the one to die. Not her. Enjoy burning in hell, you monster." Panel 7. The fire rages on, the sound of her heartbeat as palpable as the flames. Panel 8. A hand rests on her shoulder, comforting.

Panel 1. Voxer, with a hand on V'ul's shoulder, steps past. V'ul looks up with surprise, her heart still pounding. "Steady on, V'ul. Deep breaths," Voxer tells her. Panel 2. Voxer, extending a hand with a look of concerned determination, as if he too has had his mind taken elsewhere by the fire, tells her: "We're going to do this together." Panel 3. V'ul looks up at Voxer, tears in her eyes as she clutches her shirt. Her beating heart has calmed. Panel 4. V'ul shakly extends her hand towards Voxer's. Panel 5. Voxer squeezes his hand tight around V'uls.

Panel 1. Voxer and V'ul rush head-first into the inferno. Determination claim's Voxer's face. V'ul follows, hand in hand, her tears still present but her mind set, trusting her friend. "Don't let go."

Real talk though, it's mainly experience and practice! Observing animals IRL and figuring out how their structure works helps when you have a non-existent creature to create. You can mix and match limbs and elements with a degree of fidelity that way too (AKA chimeras and stuff)
