I think it’s incredibly beautiful how you love humans and it helps me stay hopeful! Continuing to believe in us is hard, and it’s worth remembering that it’s harder for some than others. Fear and distrust of humans are valid feelings for someone who has experienced trauma and injustice firsthand.

If someone is fantasizing about the end (of themselves or the world), maybe it’s more helpful to think of it not as a fault in their thinking or attitude, but a testament to just how difficult and painful existence is for them. Expressing pain and coping with humor aren’t immoral or anti-human.
