10. Economic Democracy through Sectoral Bargaining and Workers Councils

“In 2007, Wisconsin created a Wisconsin Quality Home Care Authority… effectively a statewide bargaining unit for home care workers… We can establish statewide workers councils for every sector”

9. A Living Wage for All

“In 2012, the Fight for $15 launched and captured national attention. $15 in 2025 dollars would be $21.50… Economists from across the globe have studied higher minimum wages and found that they expand the economy”

Most minimum wage studies have found little or no job loss
There is always a great deal of political heat around minimum wage increases, largely driven by concerns about job losses. After a minimum wage increase, the story goes, many employers will not be abl...

8. Public Option for Health Care

“We already provide public insurance in Wisconsin to nearly one million people under BadgerCare. Opening this program up to the public at a reduced rate… would create an affordable, high-quality health care option for uninsured or underinsured.”

7. Multi-Member Districts and Fusion Voting

“Let’s restore our role as innovators by breaking up the two-party system through multi-member districts and fusion voting.”

6. End Citizens United in Wisconsin

“Using a tool developed by Montanans… our state can regulate corporate charters to cap or ban corporate contributions in elections.”

Montanans Go After ‘Citizens United’ - The American Prospect
Montanans are putting forth an ingenious ballot measure that, while it wouldn’t legally overturn the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling that allowed corporations to buy elections, would negate its...

5. Rebuild the Manufacturer and Agricultural Tax Credit

“Because of a Walker era tax credit [manufacturers] can claim a 7.5% tax break lowering their effective tax rate from 7.9% to 0.4%… Who benefits? With this tax credit, it’s disproportionately millionaires.”

4. Enforce and Expand Antitrust Laws to Bust Monopolies

“Wisconsin’s Antitrust Act offers broad powers… to “safeguard the public against the creation or perpetuation of monopolies.” For example, our state has the right to revoke or deny corporate charters for monopolies.”

3. End the Voucher School Scam

“Rather than invest in our public education system, once the envy of America, we funnel over $700 million per year into private K-12 schools with no standards and no oversight”
January 3, 2026 at 3:26 PM
2. Build Public Power to Address the Housing Crisis

“WHEDA can be transformed into a genuine public housing authority for Wisconsin with two goals:
1. Build as many high quality, desirable, affordable housing units as possible.
2. Reduce the cost of housing/rent”
January 3, 2026 at 3:26 PM
1. A Public Bank

“A catch-all solution to kickstart an end to the affordability crisis. North Dakota has a public bank they use to finance… projects like affordable housing at rates up to 5% lower than the standard market rate.”

This fight has been going on for years and Firestone continues to undermine workers’ right to a union and their hard-won benefits. If you want to support these workers taking action, you can write Bridgestone-Firestone management here:

The company has challenged these results, arguing that the union cannot represent these contractors.

Firestone has laid off thousands of full-time workers and converted them into contractors. These workers are denied union pay and benefits such as housing, education, and medical care.
January 30, 2025 at 6:08 PM
This comes after the company reneged on a wage agreement, denied fair retirement, and refused to recognize subcontracted workers’ rights to a union.

Firestone is the largest private employer in Liberia. The company’s special relationship is often referred to as the “Government of Firestone”
