exactly one year ago today we lost our senior calico, Sheba, after a decade long battle with chronic kidney disease. exactly one week ago we brought home a new baby who needed a home. introducing Buckets McPhee.

We adopted daisy 4 days after losing my husbands soul dog unexpectedly. she had arrived at the shelter the day he died and we took that as a sign that Ghost had sent her to us. Thanks, buddy. we miss you.

Happy Gotcha Day to the baby of the family, my sweet Daisy May. baby doll was adopted from a local humane society as 9 month old after running the wilds of WV when her family decided they no longer wanted her. their loss is our incredible gain 🥹💕

this morning I want to share one of the last pictures I took of my elderly calico before she passed last year. sheba was 17 and had battled kidney disease for almost a decade. she was my best friend for many years. in this picture she is looking towards the sun. this is how I like to remember her

rescuing a “senior” dog is the best thing my family has done in a while! he was only 7 when we got him but his face already had some powdered sugar 😭 he’s pretty chill and only destroys his own toys
