For the 50th anniversary of Stephen King’s The Shining, eds. Jeffrey Andrew Weinstock and Tony Magistrale solicit chapter proposals for an edited collection Fifty Years of The Shining: New Essays. Proposals are welcome on any aspects of the novel, adaptations, paratexts, and cultural influence.

In issue 1.1, this meant introducing readers to nineteenth-century American William Leete Stone's fiction, but Exhumation pieces could also republish neglected or obscure works by better-known and/or more contemporary authors, including authors not necessarily associated with the Gothic genre.

American Gothic Studies is seeking contributions for our "EXHUMATIONS" section.

Exhumations present new editions of American Gothic texts (max 12K words) that have been lost, forgotten, overlooked, or otherwise unavailable to contemporary readers.
