When a bill reaches the Governor:
✅ Sign → Becomes law
❌ Veto → Rejected (Legislature can override)
😴 No Action (12 days) → Becomes law

Solano College’s AJ Matthews testified at the Senate Education Committee in support of ACR 40! A resolution introduced by @asmmikefong.bsky.social to reaffirm California’s commitment to safe, inclusive education for students from mixed-status families. Powerful student advocacy in action!

Thanks to student advocacy, the proposed CCC registration fee is not moving forward. SSCCC will work with the Chancellor’s Office to find solutions that protect access and equity.

SSCCC joined UC, CSU students, and Early Edge at the Legislative Women’s Caucus press conference as they announced SB 271 (Reyes) as a priority bill. SB 271 aims to expand resources for students with dependent children across all higher ed segments.
