Was "Three Piece Suit" not a version of a Soul Syndicate tune with Santa Davis behind the kit?

Ernest Hoo Kim's mike placement and mixing skills helped a lot here, but Sly is in thunderous form on yet another Coxsone cover

And the greedy dog lose his bone
To the reflection of his own shadow
There shall be reaction"

They played the Rainbow again at the end of March 1979. Contrary to what you will read elsewhere, Sly and Robbie did not play on tour. Mikey Richards was the drummer and i think Ranchie McLean was on bass. Mikey had a massive gong at the back of his kit

On checking the photos, you are correct. The ring mark picture was taken an hour after the Dunadd shots, so was indeed nearby but not at the hillfort itself

With regard to the "Natty Dread" cut of NWNC I did an experiment a while back. Sleeve says track runs 4:06, but it plays for 3:46
I slowed it down to 92% so it played for the time stated. It sounds far more like the various later live versions. I think Island speeded it up (which was a bad idea).

I remember looking at the track listing back in 1984 and thinking "No, that's not representative of Bob Marley's career, and has sod all to do with reggae". My opinion remains firmly unchanged.

My ex-wife had an inexplicable loathing for that tune.

She simply couldn't grasp the concept of borrowing lyrics from an advert, or why someone ostracised for his albinism might want to big up his success.

Mind you, she never grasped that Smashie and Nicey were parody characters either...
