I can no longer intuitively understand when people use the term "cause" for anything non trivial. My first response is something like "the situation is more complex than that"

Most plants have minimal genomes; one tiny fern is a big exception.

I'd swear injuries occur in clusters...I've turned my ankle, thrown out my back, and had my thumb smashed all in a month. Before that, nothing more than oapercut for a year or so.
