I disagree with step 3. AI can greatly enhance your game when used responsibly - not by handling all the art for the finished product, but by kickstarting early builds, especially for solo first-time devs with a programming background. Besides, I don’t see how in-game AI features are inherently bad.

You’ll never be perfect - embrace imperfections. Life’s too short to hold back! Don’t compare yourself to those further ahead; you’ll get there in time.

Indie games are often far more rewarding to play than most AAA titles anyway, if you ask me.
They manage to capture the essence of joy which many big studios lost with their games (not all).
