Due to the meandering of the westerlies, temperatures in Siberia have dropped below the average, which may have caused the Siberian High to strengthen more than usual.

When the Siberian anticyclone grows stronger, it is common for cold air to flow more vigorously into Japan. I therefore consider it highly probable that this is linked to the record strength of the Siberian high in October.
