And yes, seed oils are part of all infant formulas, even those made in Europe. But, there are other differences with formulas made in Europe and these need consideration.

The effects on WIC may be considerable if new guidance increases the cost of the formula.

The effects on WIC may be considerable if new guidance increases the cost of the formula.
This might best be done using a federal advisory panel approach or other way of getting scientific expertise to review these issues before decisions are made. It also means making sure cost and equity issues are considered as well as comprehensive support for mixed feeding families.

This means covering all formula types including exempt and preterm formulas, including industry and a range of federal agencies, not just the FDA in the process and working with international experts and companies to hear their perspective.
