Can’t help but feel Arteta threw away the game today with that lineup. The draw is obviously better than a loss, but the game could have easily been won and that second half showed why. Disappointing.

I didn’t mind the lineup, but it was clear Eze should have been on sooner, if not have started. The narrative will be that Arsenal “didn’t go for it”, but they had more shots on goal, only two less on target. A cagey match that went the way of a superb FK. It is what it is.

Going into the transfer window, Noni Madueke was not a player I had in mind as a signing for Arsenal, whatsoever. Nothing against him as a player, but my preference was to target somebody who would provide higher quality in the here-and-now rather than potential for the future.

I can’t predict the future, but you’d imagine spending 5M on Kepa and ~10M-15M on Nørgaard probably bodes well for higher expenditures on the LW and CF files for Arsenal.

Well deserved opportunity to manage Parma for Carlos Cuesta. All the best to him!

I think it’s normal to have preferences, especially when the topic is Šeško vs Gyökeres, where neither are perfect or without flaws. With that said, I’m not sure such extreme or emphatic backing for any one “side” is warranted.

Arsenal Women! What a team and what a performance - hats off to them!

Not that I would be turning my nose up at most winger signings, but Rodrygo is, by far, one of the best Arsenal could sign this upcoming window.

It’s quite a long shot in this moment, but if things were to materialize, what a signing it would be.

At its core, it’s just banter, however, it’s a type of banter that feels a bit too low-brow and unfitting to be present at an actual match, especially when you consider the origins of this banter are stemming strictly from online discourses and not anything happening out in reality.
Liverpool fans with a message for Mikel Arteta before their game against Arsenal.

PSG were the better team over two legs. Not necessarily more clinical, but they did what was needed to advance. Big up to them.

Not a bad performance by Arsenal, but you could see the areas where a lack of quality was apparent.

A hard reset and a strong summer needed now.

The team had chances to score and potentially get something from this, but the really poor first 30 minutes of the game were costly. All to do for Arsenal away to Paris next week.

Of course, a job well done to Arsenal Women on their qualification to the UCL final. Hopefully, the men follow suit, starting Tuesday.

Hats off to Liverpool. A great season and a well-deserved 20th title victory for them. Enjoy the rest of the season and the summer 👊

Tough to gauge since Ipswich Town aren’t the best opposition, but I felt today’s team with Trossard through the middle and Merino operating on the left side of midfield worked really well. Not sure if it will be the solution for the first leg of the semi-final, but something to watch for.

Another famous away victory at Real Madrid. Wasn’t always comfortable or assuring, but the team stuck with it, defended well, and got the job done. Arsenal can be very proud. On to PSG.

An excellent night at the Emirates. Still another 90’ to go and far from over when Real Madrid is the opposition, but a very positive start to this tie. Hopefully no injury or fitness setbacks before the game next week. #COYG❤️

If you’re Arsenal:

To win now, and to do so at all costs, you go after Alexander Isak or Viktor Gyökeres.

To balance out parts of the present with the future, you target Benjamin Šeško or Hugo Ekitiké.

I still have a semi-active account on the other app for the sport journalists who have not yet migrated here, but man, what a mission it is to simply get news without being exposed to some new-age drone nonsense in the process. A sad deterioration.
