St Andrew the Less Community Project
@standrewtheless.bsky.social
We are a volunteer-led group working to rescue and revitalise the 13th-century church of St Andrew the Less on Newmarket Road, Cambridge for heritage and community use. www.standrewtheless.org
Last week we were kindly invited to present to the MPhil students from @cambridge_heritage with the hope of finding opportunities to collaborate. It was a lovely evening, full of meaningful conversations about heritage. Reach out if you want to collaborate!

On we behind the scenes of the Museum of Archeology and Anthropology at the Centre for Material Culture (originally a nuclear bunker!) to see some of the surviving artefacts from Barnwell Priory. It was a fantastic afternoon, thank you so much to Rosie and Eleanor for being such wonderful guides.

Last week, Anne and Jac joined the Forever United Lunch at the Cambridge United Foundation — lending a hand and chatting about our work to bring life to St Andrew the Less. We had some great feedback and we came away with plenty of encouragement. We also had a raffle, prizes kindly donated by Tesco!

We have a winner! Thanks so all those that voted in our poll for a tagline. You went for... Reviving the Past, Enriching the Present. I think this sums up what we are doing nicely! So there we go.

Happy New Year from the St Andrew the Less Community Project!
Here’s a pic from our pre-Christmas drinks. Since then, we’ve all had a well-earned break, though it is back to work now! Wish us luck as we strive to restore this historic church, and thank you for all your support!

Yesterday, we were in the Cambridge Independent.... 🤩
We were told to look serious, as the state of the church is a serious matter, which prompted much giggling. But behold, the photographer managed to get us in a moment of gravitas

A big thank you to Daniel Zeichner, our MP, for visiting St Andrew the Less on Friday!
We loved showing him around and chatting about our plans to restore the building, celebrate its heritage, and open it up again for community.
It’s wonderful to see growing interest and support for the project
