apples and pears
I’m lucky to have lots of trees in the garden, half of them are fruit trees. In the sunlight they’re not just fruit, they’re nature-art popping with colour. Apples and pears have been cultivated for thousands of years.

falling off the patio
I live in a village just up the road from the sea. If I fall off my patio I fall onto a fox-food covered wet lawn, if I fell off my patio here I’d fall into the sea. That’s why I live in the village – it’s just safer.

South Parade Pier, Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.
The first seaside piers were built in England in the early 19th century, their heyday the boom in seaside resorts during the Victorian era.
This one opened in 1879, it's still active with its fishing deck, children’s funfair & live music.

The ‘cycle series’ continues; I couldn’t resist this one with teal co-ordinated helmet, backpack, bicycle, and door. Typical for Chichester, even for adults, this bike has no chain; it helps to prevent the residents from escaping.

Bognor Regis Pier, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, England.
Built in 1865 at a cost of £5,000, it was originally 1000 feet long with a pavilion and landing stage at its seaward end. Wear and tear and three major storms have reduced the pier to its current length of 300 feet.
