The US is now officially a rogue state run by a convicted criminal, bent on invading more sovereign countries, destroying NATO and joining the Iran/Israel/Russia axis of evil. When will US lawmakers grow a spine and get rid of this senile, psychotic bag of bileous hate?

Dangerous, stupid imperialism. Canada, Cuba, Denmark and Panama might well be next in the cross hairs of an untethered and unhinged Putin wannabe.
The ‘Putinization’ of US foreign policy has arrived in Venezuela
Trump is no longer bending the rules – he is demolishing them, with consequences far beyond Caracas

Absolute illegal insanity. Trump trying to out-Putin Putin in his contempt for international law. As a citizen of a country that Don the Con and his corrupt grifters wants to annex, this sort of snatch-and-grab kidnapping of a national leader is a worrying development.

Great morning of game driving across Chobe National Park in Botswana with Graydo's sister Saakje and her partner Henkka. We spotted lots of elephants, buffalo and giraffes, and (most special for us) a sable antelope and the first cheetah we have ever seen in a dozen or more trips into Chobe.

An easy afternoon drive as far as Mazabuka. Tomorrow an early start should get us to Livingstone before lunch and then across to Kasane, Botswana by early afternoon to meet up with my sister Saakje and her partner Henkka for 12 days of safari fun. It feels good to be driving away from Lusaka!

It's official, then. The US regards western Europe as more of a threat than Russia, and wants to intervene in European politics to help out the far right (AfD, Reform, Vox, etc) while soft-pedalling Russian imperialist aggression. A truly evil administration.

More blatant illegality by Trump and his cronies. Will US fighters shoot down civilian airliners over Venezuela? Their recent record of cold-blooded murder in air strikes on boats suggest that this is definitely on the table. Another lurch down the road to full Putinism.

One of the all-time great playwrights. I saw his Arcadia at the National Theatre in London, and the film versions of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and Shakespeare In Love are pure genius. He made the world a better place with his works.

Rybakina, when she's on (as she was yesterday) hits the ball as cleanly and as elegantly as anyone. She can hang with the power of Sabalenka and then crack a blistering winner out of nowhere. I like her quiet and unassuming style.
