What made it worse, later on in the series (or some point in GM future) a contestant won a Golden Joystick by equalling Danny, not defeating.
So why didn't John?
Don't suppose it helped this was the first 1 on 1 challenge. Wouldn't have looked good having to hand over a GJ first try.... Ho hum...

So, John went first, got 49secs. Then Danny the Sega champ had his go.
His time? 49secs.
But wait I hear you cry, Danny got 40 and was undefeated. Nope.... That was his 2nd go....
The 49 might have been John's 2nd go too. All I know for certain is, after 1 go, they were tied so went again.
