Wonder what I could get for the lavender heels and the bathrobe that Jessica Lange wore in Crimes of the Heart.

I saw the revisal of Damn Yankees this afternoon at the Arena theater in DC. I then pushed tonight’s travel plans to NYC to tomorrow so I could stay and see the evening performance. It was that good.

Been on a nice run of moviegoing. The silent The Enemy Sex is a delightful comedy with Betty Compson. The Sound of Music is just a great watch (thanks AMC) and The Baltimorons is a charming, lovely new indie. But it was seeing Atonement again that slayed me. What a masterful, flawless movie!

This is the most delightful & dishy “inside Hollywood” book I have ever read. I have spent over 20 years working in Hollywood and another 20 off & on & I have never encountered such great writing. I bought this book over 40 years ago at a used book store & just came across it in a box in my garage.

This may be my favorite movie title ever, along with Dry Martini (starring Mary Astor).

Also weird timing but this movie which happened to be on the Universal Monsters channel was the first movie I saw when we moved to LA in 1963. As Hammer movies go, it is slow and bloodless. But this final shot from Kiss of the Vampire left a lasting impression.
