My favorite teacher of all time, Madonna Goss, was our director, and she used her NYC connections to get this very historic piece of costuming for the entire run of our show! Supposedly (and not because I wore it), it was going to the Smithsonian shortly after we finished our run.

I used to joke backstage that I could still perceive the slightest aroma of bourbon on the sleeves!

Amen!

…ended up alone at the kitchen table. Here I was — this wide-eyed kid from Ohio, living his filmmaker dreams in Los Angeles — cutting slices of pumpkin pie with Diane Keaton, and talking (in hushed tones) about her secret boyfriend at the time, Al Pacino…

…It was an age before cell phones, and she was anxiously awaiting his long distance call from NYC. She was as kind and sweet as I had hoped she’d be. If anything, she actually seemed a bit shy. Even so, she let me snap a Polaroid of her, sitting there with her pumpkin pie…

… (I’ll have to dig up that photo and share it sometime soon). It was a very good Thanksgiving … and for Ms. Keaton’s unpretentious generosity, I will always be thankful. Rest in peace, my pumpkin-pie-sharing friend.

…and what REAL “serving and protecting” looks like by law enforcement, NOT the current bullying and propagation of fear by FEDERAL law enforcement agencies.

What a great time to be at Paramount! My office was above Gene Roddenberry's & across the (tiny) hallway from Leonard Nimoy's! Richard Arnold (the Star Trek Archivist) had his office next to mine & would sneak me down to Gene's (after hours) to watch dailies before the first episode even aired! ☺️

The man, and his administration, do not "serve" the American people. They serve THEMSELVES – at the EXPENSE of the AMERICAN PEOPLE.
