"Werewolves lost it all the time – but their instinct was a complete, holistic thing, where needs and fears surged and overcame. The vampire seemed to go the opposite way. Once the hunger took over, all that remained was predation."

The story starts in 1992, way after everything went to hell, but ads like this one (everywhere in the 1960s) definitely helped reach that breaking point. Who would have thought that mass-creating vampires to provide the labour demanded by the impossible rhythm of production could have ended badly?

For context, I am writing a weird paranormal uchronia that uses popular fiction tropes to explore the horrors of late stage capitalism and systemic oppression. So fun, right?

There is a three-way power system that sees humans at the top of the chain, and werewolves/vampires at the bottom.

Sometimes I worry about the content of my writing. Is it too silly, too tropey, too weird?

Then I think about Anne Rice, who wrote about gay vampires and super world-buildy, shamelessly bisexual BDSM harem fairy tales retelling in the fucking 80s.

And nothing.

What an inspiration, you queen.

I am not 100% sure of how I am actually supposed to use this. I was never into Twitter or Instagram, but never too late? Realistically, it might become my writing process brainsump or something.
