I vibe with this. Ive been trying to figure out how to express how i was seen prior to coming out, cause i dont think anyone percieved me as a boy/man or even vaguely aligned with being a boy/man, i just existed and i dont think anyone knew how to describe that

Forget the military--is a government that believes this about trans people going to let us become teachers, doctors, or hold any position of trust and authority?

I really need to make those calls, too. They may know helping queer folk matters, but this feel more real when specific people say stuff to other specific people

Going back to the beginning, this feels like a personal preference of yours that you are mistakenly applying as a universal truth.
Lastly, i appreciate that you are looking for feedback, and i really hope what I've said helps, whether you agree with me or not

However, if you remove enough of those pieces, the book would stop being so special. Where that balance is, i dont know. Its possible it would be better with less trans stuff, or with more. Most importantly, why is bottom surgery special to you in relation to the rest of the trans pieces in it?

Going back to "is it additive/meaningful", you say removing it from dreadnought wouldn't affect the story. Is the bit about getting her first bra any different? Most every piece of transness in that book could be removed by itself and largely leave the book intact.

A woman keeping her penis or getting a vagina can always be looked at as futhering transphobia. Its useful to look at how the opposing action would be viewed before critiquing an action.

The book would be decidely less deep without those lines. Likewise, the nature of being trans in a transphobic world is inately challenging, any choice a trans person makes will always be the wrong one to some or all other people.

From your thread, i feel like you have mistaken a personal preference for being a universal truth. You dont feel it adds to the character or plot, but as an example, the parts in dreadnought about her genitals both tell us a lot about her, and shows some amount of trans experience to cis readers.

It would have been nice if the article about executive orders covered how the trans one would affect trans folk here, especially since it specifically mentions the order but never talks about it

Please dont do more jk rowling ones if you care about trans folks. This did not feel good to see

I dont know emily's reasons, but Miles O'Brien in deep space 9 does a bunch of cold blooded murder, and advocates for genocide, as well as often being an abusive jerk. The bit where he willfully kills like 9 guys that the doctor is actively helping and it doesn't end their friendship...

But then you get to get more! More tasty drink, more warmth, more happy programming 😜

I dont think you can drink tea too fast unless a) its scalding or b) it causes you to choke. If you drink your tea fast, just make more. If its a consistent problem, get a bigger mug.
Brought you you by a girl who frequently forgets she has a warm drink nearby until its cold
