Stumbled across a random @vercel.com detail. Looks like their servers have an env var with AWS_REGION set to us-east-1. I had a different default in the code so hadn’t set that env var myself. Was getting an S3 CORS error that turned out to be the wrong region. Fix was to set that env var myself.
