So far the leaks look flawless. I’m expecting they’re not going to miss anything. And if they do, I’ll be the first to say!

We have leaked footage, we have official confirmation. There’s no need to be leery! It’s happening!!!

Why wouldn't it happen, it literally says it's happening.

I had to pick a random serial number for my Ghostbusters Proton Pack, and I picked The Night of Macklunkey. LOL

I am going to claim responsibility for this until proven otherwise.

Also, two of the directors passed away, and neither of them had a say in what happened to their movies over the years.

I don’t think he cares about Star Wars anymore. Not to criticize the Disney era, but I think him not having a say in the new stuff may have softened his feelings on the old stuff. Also, it doesn’t matter if it’s awkward, it’s film history & needs to be preserved.

One time in high school I was on a road trip with some friends and they asked me to tell them Star Wars. So I quoted the first twenty minutes of the movie.

They have to reedit the movie, the way they’re doing it. Which is the correct way.

I assumed they would scan the best backup copy of the original version they had and say it’s good enough. This effort is going back to the original negative as often as they can, but going to the next best version for any VFX shots. Not recompositing, preserving the original work in a pristine way.

There’s no reason, legally, morally, historically, that Disney wouldn’t be able to or wouldn’t want to restore the original Oscar-winning versions for the 50th anniversary. I just wouldn’t have expected them to actually rebuild it from the best final elements, instead of just scanning an IP.

Yeah, I went through the colorists’ insane ramblings and tried to pull out facts, but they make little to no sense. forums.thestarwarstrilogy.com/threads/marc...
