St Patrick’s Hall in Dublin Castle is getting ready to welcome Ireland’s 10th President this November!
Go behind the scenes as chandeliers, some with over 500 pieces of crystal, are carefully lowered, cleaned, polished, & winched back into place. This painstaking process takes 2 weeks to complete!

Shotley Park, a Grade II listed house in Consett, has been on fire overnight. County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service have been working to put out the blaze last night and during today. There was an application in 2024 to turn it into a hotel🧵

Woolley Hall, West Yorkshire, has been sold by Wakefield Council (undisclosed amount and buyer). Grade II* built from 1635 for the Wentworth family, owned by the council since 1947 and used as a college and conference/wedding venue.

This is extreme gardening.

At 55 feet high and 300 years old, it takes one gardener 10 weeks on a hydraulic cherry-picker to trim the hedges at Powis Castle, returning the yew hedges to their famous, cloud-like shapes.

A grand piano with a history as dramatic as any Victorian novel has returned to Cragside, Northumberland: buff.ly/WjMmbZX

Once owned by Arabella Goddard – hailed in her time as “The Queen of Pianists” – the piano has survived shipwrecks, scandal, and even a hostage situation in a Sydney theatre!
