Managed to score a surround sound system for free, so I’m cleaning up 7ish years of dust and cable mismanagement. I have just realized how far we’ve come from the days of only having 1 TV, 1 NES console in my house as a kid. How many of the devices in this pic can you name?

Well, today was long. Drove 3 hours to San Diego, only to turn around and come back due to the Lake Hughes fire. Thankfully, our condo is OK for now. We are still under evac warning, but boogied out anyway so we can sleep and not worry about the kiddos. Grateful for the fire crews right now.

That’s it! The final touch of the PS2: a “new” DVD drive with front bezel! Still needs some fine tuning and lube (the tray struggles the last few mm and immediately retracts), but it works!

Ok, 3 hours, 40 minutes later: my 2 year old’s got a double ear infection. On the one hand, I’m glad they aren’t rushing people through. On the other…. Almost 4 hours waiting with a 2 year old is ROUGH.

Sitting at the only urgent care in my are open today that doesn’t also have 40+ people constantly waiting for service. Arrived at 10th in line. Currently 2nd.
