@krutonium (I tried to be as species agnostic with the definition of a hug as I could be so that doesn't really change much I think)
staticr.guild.pmdcollab.org.ap.brid.gy
@krutonium Neither. The real answer is much more fun and exciting than that: It's a classic case of "it depends" yaaaaaay.

Mostly depends on the intent of the snake doing the "hugging" and how it adjust its own behavior based on how the other snake reacts so it doesn't get too uncomfortable for […]

"Don't click on sketchy links" is bad advice, people are already following that.

People click on links because at the time of clicking on them they don't recognize them as being sketchy.

The real advice should be to find out whether a link is sketchy or not before clicking on it.

@krutonium If I gotta send my ID to someone to verify I'll better be able to change my ID quickly and conveniently like I can with a password in case it gets breached.

Somehow, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Mankey's paw: Your long time childhood wish to get turned into a pokemon finally comes true! But you are now whatever is your least favorite pokemon.

Something I've been thinking about regarding digital identification is that with the raise of generative tools, there will eventually be no going around a need for something to distinguish real people from machines in the digital realm. Digital IDs issued by governments seem like an obvious […]

An authentic soundtrack for high fantasy settings shouldn't just be orchestral and folk adjacent music, it should also include some ripping EDM and synths cuz what do you think what type of music your illusion magic bard is gonna do

Would you hire a developer that has read every code base and documentation ever made, and has written thousands of lines of code but never have they ever actually ran any code or software to see what the results of the code look and behave like in practice?

AIs have been trained on trillions of […]

@smalladventures.net Nothing memory related pretty sure. Got 32 gigs and only rarely go above 1/3 of that. I feel like it may be related to something with plasma reading media data of currently played media for the task bar or something like that.

@smalladventures.net the browser crashing my desktop thing is extra weird because I specifically only happens in vivaldi but not librewolf and only if I have other apps (like steam and discord) running, if I close them it works.

Though I haven't yet cared enough to actually bother […]

@smalladventures.net plasmashell starts randomly crash looping specifically when I'm watching video content in vivaldi (chromium), my DAW's real time audio performance generally halved and starts breaking randomly, and yesterday my browser for no apparent reason could not decrypt the key store […]

Well I guess I'm gonna start the distrohopping arc of my linux journey soon??
staticr.guild.pmdcollab.org.ap.brid.gy
My (arch btw) linux system is slowly deteriorating in oddly specific ways and I have no idea what's going on. I thought I'd be safe if I just don't mess with it much but apparently not it'll find ways to break all on its own.

please don't abbreviate content warnings, people won't know what the abbreviation means until they open the content warning and see the content.
That's the exact opposite of what a content warning is supposed to do when it turns out that its a kind of content that makes them […]

[Terrible, completely awful cursed idea, AI related]

"Lossy compression" powered by GenAI to compress image/video.
You input an image or video and the AI generates alt text based on it to reduce the filesize to a few kilobytes. To uncompress you input that text back into an AI image generator […]
