I think they’re wise to watch what they say just to avoid messy edge cases. I’m also probably more risk-adverse and specificity-minded though.

It’s definitely fluff for those of us that know a thing or two, but I think some of the contraindications and potential side effects are worth knowing for people starting from square one.

It’s not like wikis and guides have a choice but to be conservative. Both to avoid liability and be honest to readers. I don’t think it would be so if there wasn’t a dearth of research. Maybe someday we will be free of disclaimers of thromboembolism bc of studies on women taking equine estrogen 🙃

That’s not true. You’re not in denial or repressing some hidden truth. Achieving our goals feel hopeless and being seen as a man in a dress feels inevitable because those are things we fear very deeply. Pessimism manipulates our fear into what feels like a truth that we have tried to run from.

I think it boils down to whether you have dysphoria or not. Most trans people do, so for those people transitioning helps. I think a lot of talk about transitioning being “necessary” is directed towards people with dysphoria, as they may not yet realize the benefits of being dysphoria free.
