Yeah, there’s a shortage of GPs everywhere it seems. My mum’s surgery didn’t have a GP in the building when she rang the the other day. Pretty sure that’s not legal, what if an emergency situation arose?

Wow, didn’t notice that, well spotted! That’s outrageous. So, to make it a decent usable machine, I’d want to up the RAM to 24GB and the storage to 1 TB, plus add a power adaptor, it’s coming out at £2,058

It’s shockingly bad trying to get appointments, although it was on the news last week that surgeries are going to have to offer an online booking system rather than the 8am lottery. Hopefully this will improve but can’t come soon enough

They’re either liars or incompetent. I think they were trying it on last year but the thing about being good liars is having a good memory! If they’d looked at last year’s MOT, which they have access to, they’d have seen the advisory on brake discs, so no idea why it’s not being picked up this time

Yes, I suppose it’s testament to how well Apple make their kit, my MacBook is 13 years old and if it wasn’t for the battery life and screen flickering on startup (which I’m guessing could be early signs of failure) then I wouldn’t be too bothered to replace it. iPad is 4 years old, battery not good

I should have replaced it before now, trouble is I need to also replace the MacBook Pro and iPad too. It’s about deciding which one is more important. I’m thinking the MacBook first!

I’m tempted this time too, I still have an XR which will get left behind - no iOS 26 for me! ☹️

Ohhh, new shiny! 😍

What’s your take on the news back in March that Canva has bought the Affinity suite? Initially, I feared that the perpetual licence would be going, in favour of a subscription model - but, for now at least, that seems to not be on the cards.

Aw, that’s one to keep for the future and embarrass her with years down the line! 😉

Indeed, and it’s only going to get worse when we have to move to electric cars. Want new brake pads? That’s a dealership-only part. A licence to print money!

This is the direction the car industry is going, sadly. I swore I won’t buy another Renault after the front pipe of my 8-year old Captur went and after trying 3 or 4 high street independent garages, they said that part of the exhaust was a Renault-only part. At £800!! Disgusting practice

Yes, hi! 👋🏼 Could just be a mistake or someone entered your postcode instead of theirs? Or, like in our street, my postcode covers around 10 separate properties? Is it being held at sorting office or returned to sender?

I’m guessing the “Royal Mail App” is a link to something nasty? Or, as is increasingly more common, this email is a preceder to another one that wants some kind of action from you?

This one never gets old

Nice to see a familiar face over here! I tried mastodon but found it wasn’t really a viable alternative for Twitter. The lack of news feeds and entertainment / celebrities didn’t help. Just need to invest a bit of time finding and following accounts. We’ll see…
