i've been going through the first chapter of higurashi when they cry thinking 'there's no way all of this slow pacing at the start could possibly lead to a good enough pay off to be worth it.' wrong, LIES, actually the first time i've felt genuine fear from a piece of media in forever

im not saying they weren’t, they definitely were, but the ultima series is one of the most influential series of games that exists and in no small part because of ea. im 100% on board with sleezy ceos returning to the muck that spawned them but that doesn’t reduce the significance of that art
