It was cold, it was icy, but I completed parkrun at Finsbury parkrun. With Hampstead Heath cancelled there was a few extra and over 800 runners. Well done to volunteers who helped make parkrun happen; dealing with the cold and the extra runners. #parkrun

It is time to dust of my running spikes. The weather warning for heavy rain for Friday making sure that is going to be a proper mudfest for Saturday's XC.

London XC championship, after years of injuries I managed to complete it today, possible I came in last with time of 1hr15min, but success for me today was just to get round. Best race conditions you could ask for, firm ground, sunny but cool. Thanks to all volunteers.

Yesterday was a busy day, and I volunteered for tailwalking at Finsbury Park parkrun. Then, to Claybury for the first Met League XC race. Getting to and from these events included three hours of bike riding. Legs are knackered, but the day was fun.

The start of Mornington Chaser's Regent's Park 10k frome the back (as I was 70 mins pacer)
October 5, 2025 at 3:53 PM
First event of Mornington Chasers's winter Series Regent's Park 10k. After yesterday's Royal Park closed due to high winds, this morning it was crisp and clear sunshine with only a light breeze. I was the 70 mins pacer this run helped a few runners to get under that time. #running #10k #mcrc

With cross country season's first race next week, my parkrun choice was going to be Wormwood Scrubs parkrun, the best XC experience to be found in central London. The overnight rain made the ground soft, but the weather in the morning was sunny but windy. A sub-31 run for me today was a good time.

Sad to hear that Patricia Routledge has kicked the bucket, sorry bouquet. - RIP Patricia Routledge, who played Hyacinth Bucket, pronounced "bouquet", in Keeping Up Appearances.

I had a great run at Finsbury Park parkrun. It has taken over two years of recovery, but I have finally seen improvement in times as I manage another sub 30 minutes 5k on course that has over 60m of elevation.

This morning woke up late, I had to peddle hard on my bike to make to make Highbury Fields parkrun start. Had a good run today. My 2nd fastest 5k this year, with a sub-29 time. #parkrun

Today, I was back at Gladston parkrun for a Mob match of Queens Park Harries vs Mornington Chasers. There was superb turnout from both clubs. My time was 4 seconds quicker than run in June here. #parkrun

First time at Lloyd parkrun, Croydon. It was a beautiful cross-country style course with a good hill to make it challenging. #parkrun

Bike ride to Mole Valley parkrun, 30 miles, with 1776ft elevation change, and in just under 3 hours. Really enjoyed cycling from central London through Surry Hills and up Box Hill.

The Mole Valley parkrun course is brutal. Begins going uphill, occasionally forcing me to walk. Ends in a downhill, which encourages you to sprint to the finish.
I'm pleased with my time of 33:01; my legs were exhausted from a 3 1/2-hour bike ride here, including climbing Box Hill. #parkrun

Today was my first time at Sunny Hill parkrun. There was no sun on this cloudy morning, but there were plenty of hills. My body struggled as it was fatigued from some long rides during the week, but I did manage a good sprint finish.
