That's most likely what they will do, but the Steam Machine hasn't released yet. Since this is a different machine coming into a more competitive-seeming market, they may change their strategy.

We won't know until an official announcement!

These prices most likely include a retailer markup, but it still gives us some idea of what to expect if the rumored price is accurate. Of course, take this info with a grain of salt, but it’s still worth sharing.

I hope that isn’t the case. The RAM requirements for recommended are pretty nuts too.

Valve used retailers with the original Steam Machine, and Valve seems to have opened up a little on it with GameStop selling the Steam Deck.

The point is their strategy for the Machine could be different and include EU retailers. I’m pretty sure the original Machine was sold on Smarty as well.

With the changing economic conditions, I could see Valve taking a different approach here. RAM prices are skyrocketing and unlike the Steam Deck, the Machine is similar to both Desktops and current consoles.

The original Steam Machine was sold through retailers, they could do something similar.
