And to finish, I think my favourite piece, for this month at least. Is a testament to what procreate is good at and I got to play with some painting in the process as well. Simple but carries a lot that I would like to repeat in future.

...Which is a good benefit to raise about art challenges like this, teaching yourself to drop a piece or find a way to finish it instead of sitting in the doubt from "the perfect piece" some of these I know what I'd do to fix and others I think need a bigger rework/restart

Something that helped with the 1piece a day commitment is almost every piece started as a sketch on paper, I had a large stock of thumbnails on day 2 and had some beginnings of a piece and what I wanted out of it. This had some downsides like some thumbs got a bit hyped beyond where they ended up.

Not to say painting is totally unsatisfying, particularly good place for greyscale thumbnailing and tone mapping paintings. And pieces that encourage lots of bold fields of colour.

More ""traditional"" style digital painting was a bit of a task. A lot of noodling about was demanded when trying to straight paint and the tools involved are pretty difficult to use to that advantage. Not saying painting is impossible. But demands a lot of time and labour to get great results

Discovered a bit of a double edged sword, procreate is FANTASTIC at making art of a particular style, strong lines and flats are a pleasure to work in procreate and it's great and fast at the fundamentals of layered digital art.

So this was after about 4 years of not actively being a digital painter weekly so it was also a bit of a kick in the pants to see if those skills not only were maintained but also could I do what I love on procreate, a program I know is powerful but took a while to get comfortable using for painting
