There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

Surely a matter of time before these police chases are made illegal in all but extreme cases. Plenty of evidence that cops cannot resist the thrill of the chase at the cost of death and destruction to the public.

Makes an interesting talking point given that the Timeform writers of that era were regarded as supreme judges. I'm not sure today's writers are so widely respected, but that might be cultural more than generally subjective. Anyway, the essay took me back to simpler times. Thanks.
