Ok, then I’ll just disagree, it’s not important to me that I convince you either way. Have an awesome day!

Please do everyone a favor and post the video of what preceded this incident, please don’t do what Fox News would do and only post the bit useful to their purposes. What led to this?

Who from the US though? Does Steven Seagal count as their „US Representative.“ Check out who competes before assuming it’s US policy.
June 12, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Thanks, I think we’ll just agree to disagree.
June 12, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Point out to me where exactly I said it was normal.
June 12, 2025 at 3:45 PM
Only news reports claiming NG soldiers were on the ground that came out the same day the federalization order was issued. Even the regular Army can’t react that fast, so they had to have already been there on state AD. Granted, the news reports could have been wrong, as they often are.

Was his speech inappropriate? Yes. Were previous speeches by Presidents to soldiers any less a part of their political strategy? No.
June 12, 2025 at 9:36 AM
Kind of irrelevant to my point. If you want to criticize him on the substance, then do that.
June 12, 2025 at 9:34 AM
Bush I went so far as to invoke the Insurrection Act. Before that there are many other examples of that, starting with Washington himself.
June 12, 2025 at 9:32 AM
They all are, what Trump has done is made it much more blatant. All of those speeches, from Clinton to Bush to Obama to T1 then to Biden and finally T2, served a political purpose, some were just better at obscuring that than others.
June 12, 2025 at 12:39 AM
This is nonsense. Trump is definitely not the first president to make a speech on a military base & use it as a photo op. They all do this.
June 12, 2025 at 12:03 AM
He had some title 32 there before & these 500 weren’t trained in the last couple of days, so their training was also on 32 status.
June 12, 2025 at 12:02 AM
Yes, after the ones being referred to were already trained in this mission and on scene.
June 11, 2025 at 10:38 PM
He’s talking about the Cal NG soldiers who were already present under state control, there is no limitation on their ability to enforce the law as long as they’re under state control. If you want to understand why that is, look up the racist origins of the Posse Comitatus Act.
June 11, 2025 at 8:54 PM
Nonsense.
June 11, 2025 at 3:57 PM
Yes, they all are distractions from failure in Ukraine and the still developing fallout from Musk. The parade was planned before Trump came into office, stop hyperventilating over it.
June 11, 2025 at 3:12 PM
This wasn’t related to an immigration issue. This video is truncated, the victim here says she was screaming & got to close to police who were pursuing another group that had pushed her & her daughter over. Regardless, facts seem to indicate that NYPD messed up & there will be consequences for that.
June 8, 2025 at 10:36 PM
To clarify that: the PCA was enacted in 1878 to prevent the federal military from being used to protect the rights of freed black slaves in the Jim Crow south. Trump is trying to use the Insurrection Act here, an older law & challenges should hinge on his characterization of this as “Insurrection”.
June 8, 2025 at 5:09 PM
When did this actually happen? I somehow doubt there is any connection between this & recent events.
June 6, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Probably should be a dog, they do this regularly.
June 6, 2025 at 3:31 PM
The offer came from Dmitry Rogozin, former head of Rosskosmos. He has about as much influence in the Kremlin as Zhirinovskiy did & for the same reason. In other words, it’s not serious.
June 6, 2025 at 3:28 PM
He kind of famously doesn’t drink, although it’s said he likes beer, so replace your Stolichnaya with a Baltika & you’re spot on.
June 5, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Lutnick is a moron. There was a trade surplus until 1970, which is decidedly NOT 100 years ago.
