keeping them off the streets doesn't have to mean prison in the US sense, no?
Murderers are mentally ill almost by definition, so a closed psych ward that actually deals with whatever is wrong with them is better for society. Might be a value add to society if "fixed" versus a drain for 60-ish years

die Mittelschicht vermutlich schon. Alles darunter hat aber auf absehbare Zeit kaum eine Alternative. Öffis sind auf Jahr(zehnt)e hinaus noch nicht ausreichend, es gibt weniger Arbeitsplätze als Arbeitssuchende also ist Pendeln oft alternativlos, und bei der Ernährung ist oft wenig Spielraum

on the other hand: if the press doesn't report on your policy for the first 2 years, how do you change it? Do you change people in your communications office? Do you strongarm or bribe specific outlets? Can't really _force_ media to report your stuff unless you violate laws like Trump does
