Meanwhile… a different site with no added value at all - no game demo, no structured info, just boilerplate - is gaining indexed pages.

So:
Helpful content = deindexed
No content = rewarded

It just makes no sense to me.

The content wasn't "unique" in the classic SEO sense (these games are available on thousands of sites), but it was clean, complete, and helpful.
Result: indexed pages dropped. 🙄

The weirdest part? One of the affected sites had just gotten a content upgrade. Between late March and early May, I added hundreds of well-structured pages about individual casino games - with info on provider, theme, key features - useful stuff for users trying to choose what to play.

Since then, I've seen two more drops on those same sites. No manual actions. No crawling issues. Nothing in GSC to explain it.

Hi @mariehaynes.bsky.social , I'm here to comment on this thanks to @martinomosna.com who sent me the link.

I've noticed the same thing (and tried to get some feedback on LinkedIn here: www.linkedin.com/feed/update/... )

And since that post, as you are also showing, things are getting worse...

Yes, however if a keyword ranks #3 once and doesn't rank at all another time, you will see an avg position #3.

However, there are cases where a page ranks for a keyword only a fraction of the time, while disappearing from the rankings the rest of the time. This can result in a seemingly strong top position but lead to a significant drop in traffic due to the inconsistent visibility.

Avg position, segmented by keyword AND country AND device *generally* provides useful insights...

Oh, don't know, I'm a sommelier, but that's just to impress guests at home😅 But my guess is Katarina wasn't working in Florence because of the salary 🥲

Interesting, but I’m not sure grouping Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, and Italy together as 'Europe' makes sense. IMHO, countries like DE and NL charge significantly more than ES or IT due to economic factors and market demand. It would be nice to have data about those individual countries
