Awww the lads 💙 I would think growing up in postWWII Liverpool there would be little else to satisfy a lad's tummy but bread, tea, maybe some jam and the occasional meat. I know things are better in the '60s but I remember my gran telling me they lived off bread and lard and beans for a decade. Wow.
