Nice! For the Tidewave site I used hexdocs.pm/image/readme..., but I guess typst will handle situations where text needs to wrap easily 😄

That might be what I’ll be doing in the future. Things like this are what make me question the long term feasibility of that though: 9to5google.com/2025/08/25/a...
One benefit of Android has been the openness, but Google - for obvious reasons - doesn’t like that…
Google will require developer verification to install Android apps, including sideloading
Google has announced that only apps from developers that have undergone verification can be installed on certified Android devices in 2026...

I completely support their effort though and really hope that all of those alternatives continue to improve.

For GrapheneOS, in the end it’s still relying on Google with AOSP, so everything that makes the Android dependency smaller is a good effort in my opinion.

Of course that won’t make it any secure without being able to have a locked bootloader, proper app sandboxing, etc.

That’s one reason why I mentioned that those alternatives don’t really look ready for daily use to me.

Wasn’t there something about newer Android requiring a generic kernel which should make keeping it updated easier? In any case, when I mentioned Fairphone I mostly meant for experimenting with it, like using wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Fairpho..., which uses a close to mainline kernel.

What device did you use? I’d be interested to try SailfishOS, maybe when they release their new phone (forum.sailfishos.org/t/next-gen-j...). The Android compat layer looks interesting, it’s just sad that it’s not available in the community version.
Next gen Jolla Phone
Hi there, As noted in the previous community meeting, we’d like to define the next gen Jolla Phone together with the community. Now, we’ve been offered access to a good quality modern 5G smartphone ...

I was thinking about trying a Fairphone with an alternative OS, just to see how that works, but I’m probably relying too much on iOS / Android only software.

Totally agree. Google isn’t better in any way there. The funny thing is that GrapheneOS looks like an interesting choice, but you need Google hardware for it. Then there are projects like Ubuntu Touch, SailfishOS, postmarketOS - but they don’t feel ready for serious daily use…

They should definitely be there, but I may be doing something wrong. It’s definitely nothing deliberate though. Would be nice if other people could try to reproduce!

My workflow is

git tag v1.X.Y
git push --tags

Seems alright. Although the internet says I should only push a single one 😅

I just did a fresh clone and all tags are there. Weird. Are you maybe on a fork?

What do you mean with no version tags? github.com/phoenixframe...
Those should all be visible in your local git as well when you fetch tags?
