If you want to get really crazy with it, stuff one of those with some goat cheese or feta, wrap it in bacon and bake it and it's literally divine

There are reasons to criticize any form of energy production, but for wind, this just isn't one of them
September 18, 2025 at 9:56 PM
It's true that a quarter long mile blade spinning at high speeds will most certainly kill more birds via impact than a factory on the ground.

But when considering all forms of death that can be reliably and reasonably blamed on energy infrastructure, fossil fuels take the cake

This is the source being cited above. These studies consider more than just deaths by impact, but any deaths than can be reliably described as caused by wind/fossil energy production.

Apologies, tbh I thought the source I provided did.

Here's a different one that does, though

Unfortunately, bird fatality rates due to infrastructure is not a very highly studied topic, and most statistics are based on studies from 2012-2014.

We could be underestimating the impact, and won't know without proper modern data.
September 18, 2025 at 7:03 PM
From an opinion standpoint, we'd be far better off investing in wind energy, then recovering the increased bird fatality rate by dismantling non-renewables.
September 18, 2025 at 7:02 PM
The fossil fuel industry records far more birth deaths, again, taking the size of the industry under consideration.

Both renewable and non-renewable sources pale in comparison to the amount of birds killed by housecats every year

While it's no secret wind turbines present a danger to bird populations, they still make up a fraction of recorded bird fatalities, even when taking into account the relatively small size of the wind industry

How Many Birds Are Killed by Wind Turbines?
Opinions on the number of birds killed by wind turbines vary wildly. We at American Bird Conservancy (ABC) look at the facts to provide a current estimate.

It seems the attitude has been "If America is going to squander its people and workforce, we'll gladly take them instead".

I doubt this becomes some mass Exodus, but the number of American expats around the world is about to make a notable jump.

Probably not for me, but it's a great recommendation.

As an American, it's been encouraging to see the international community being largely welcoming to Americans trying to get out.

People are abandoning the US at all levels, whether it's leaving federal jobs, leaving politics, or just leaving the country itself.

Canadian Immigration is overrun with applications right now. A lot of people simply don't want to risk being here in 5 to 10 years.
