"Don't over-engineer SMS", coming from the FAA... Right. Hundreds of very small organisations have to implement Part 5 but it seems nobody seriously wondered if it was even sensible. Rule-making is broken, in large part due to absent or delusional impact assessments. Let the Big Decoupling begin! 🤦🏻♂️

Back in the day, I think SABENA had their 747-200s fly Brazzaville - Kinshasa several times a week on the way from Brussels. It's from one side of the Congo River to the other. Can't remember exactly what the crews were saying, but I think they didn't even bother raising the gear or flaps 🤔
